A New Chapter for a Library

The Ephrata Public Library is a community treasure.  Innovative programming, community resources, and large collections of mixed media make this library an anchor in the Ephrata area. The Book Store (Books N Stuff) is a valuable source of income for the library; however, the supporting auxiliary organization disbanded abruptly and left library staff with the need to make a new plan and fast.

The library needed a space for volunteers to sort books for the store and wanted to use the upper level of their Exploratorium for this purpose.  The area had been in disuse for years and needed a deep cleaning to make it a safe and healthy environment for volunteers.

Compleat Restorations was called to provide an estimate for a deep cleaning of the space.  Learning of the dilemma facing the library, we decided that this project would be a Compleat Community Service Project with employees donating their time and Compleat giving the necessary cleaning supplies to make the Exploratorium sparkle.

The cleaning involved Hepa vacumming, dust containment, deep cleaning of walls, ceilings, windows, and fixtures. Compleat Restorations’ employees donated about 30 man hours to the project over the course of 2 evenings.

Our work in helping others brings gratification every day; this project was extra special to us as we volunteered together as a team to help our friends at the library begin a new chapter.
